Personalised Idea for a Valentine or Birthday card

This post has been keyworded under:

While shopping in Wilkinsons I came across blank jigsaw puzzles, in their children's craft section. I thought the jigsaws would make great personalised greeting cards especially for valentine's day. I suggested this to Ashley who thought it was a good Idea and set about designing and drawing his work of art. I'm sure his girlfriend will appreciate the personalised sentiment! I might make a birthday card for my mother-in-law as she loves jigsaws and at just 99p for two puzzles I think they are a bargain.

Chinese Lanterns made from Cupcake Cases

I saw this idea for a card on Frugal Family Fun Blog, Valerie has created a lovely tutorial, showing children making the cards. I just like the clever way she has not only utilised the concertina effect but also the curve of the cupcake case, to such good effect.

Flip-Flop Greetings Card

Flip-flop card

Looking through a box of cards I found one I designed in 2006 and thought it would make an easy tutorial.

First make a cardboard template. To do this just print out the pattern (attachment at the bottom of this post) and glue the sheet of paper to cardboard. When the glue is dry cut-out the sole and thong template.

The flip-flops are made from craft fun-foam, this comes in lots of colours.

The flip-flop's thong can be made from either ribbon or fun foam for the latter use the pattern.

Love Hearts

Love hearts

In January I knitted a 'tattoo' heart. The free pattern is from Jujube and Lolo. From the photograph, I took, I wanted to turn it into a Valentine's Day card. Besides printing the image on photographic paper I also printed it onto a sheet of inkjet iron-on transfer paper, for fabric. I followed the instructions on the packet and ironed the 'heart' onto plain white cotton material. I might make it into a bag or something! I could have printed it onto a plain white T too.

I have found two easy Father's Day cards to make. Card designs for men seem to be limited, so I was pleased to find these and they can be used for birthday cards too. The designs can be easily adapted to suit the recipient's taste and their sartorial style Origami shirt and tie card video. Get creative with the tie, add a tie pin if you like.
