How to make an Animal Hat with Pom Pom Ears

How to make an Animal Hat with Pom Pom Ears

With lots of animal hats in the shops I thought I would create one like a bear. I could have knitted one but I decided it would be interesting to try and customise a plain shop bought beanie. I bought a hat from a discount store for a £1, and with a couple of buttons, oddments of wool and scraps of felt I fashioned me a bear hat. I made three pom poms, two for the ears and a smaller one for the nose. I cut two circles from the scraps of felt, these go behind the buttons so need to be slightly bigger than the buttons. When I was happy with the position of the features I sewed them on.

Harry Hill Knitted Ski Mask

Harry Hill Knitted ski mask

On Tuesday evening I went out for a drink with two fellow knitters, we had a show and tell of things we had made. Nothing could trump, for comedy value, the Harry Hill ski mask Rachel produced. Who says knitting is boring? Rachel entered the mask into the Harry Hill's TV Burp K Factor competition, it didn't even get a mention. I think this fine piece of fibre art deserves a bit of recognition and a wider audience, it made me laugh.

Knitted Easter Chick

There's still time to knit these 'Just Hatched' chicks for Easter. The pattern is so easy and takes about 30 minutes to an hour to produce a fluffy bird, to contain a Cadbury's creme egg. My free chick pattern is easy to follow, give it a go!

Another Knitted Bead Necklace

Another bead necklace. This time instead of knitting one of the beads, I purled it, in the round, to give a different texture to the bead. Basic knitted bead necklace here
