Using my basic Free Pattern for Knitted Easter Chicks (containing creme egg) I made some additions. To make the chicks I used Fancy Yarn (Fur), instead of the DK yarn and a pair of 3.75mm (9 UK, 5 US) size needles, you may need larger or smaller size needles depending on your knitting tension. I'm very pleased with the resulting fluffy chicks, they just look so comical. For the hatchlings eyes I used beads.
A while ago I bought a children's knitting set from Poundland because, amoungst other things, it had a knitting Nancy for French knitting included. Now my attention has turned to the flower loom. Flower looms were popular in the 70's, I've included an advert of the Ronco flower loom, marvel at what they made! I haven't used a flower loom before and decided to have a play. Looking at the resulting 'flowers' I thought they would be perfect for felting. I am really pleased with the results and think they could be used to embellish a myriad of things.
