Crochet Flowers

Crochet flowers - work in progress

I have been busy in my spare time, crocheting flowers. Last week I learnt how to crochet by following a tutorial on the internet and ever since I have been hooked! I have tried all kinds of yarns and colour combinations. I gave up on mohair, as it was too knotty. I can see potential in these blooms. You could use them to decorate plain knitwear or as buttons. Make jewellery from them, brooches, necklaces and adornment for the hair. Decorate a bag with them even  greeting cards. I made a necklace from a red flower, embellished it with black beads then added a leaf and attached it to a length of French knitting. The faded pink flower is crocheted in cotton yarn with iridescent bead embellishment, it has a more subtle feel and with a pin attached could be a brooch.
