Day Trip To Brighton

On Friday I went to Brighton for the day with my friends Susie, David, their daughter Issy and 8 of her friends, it was Issy's birthday treat. The weather could not have been better for early April. Issy is 14 so her and her friends are independent enough to explore Brighton without too much adult supervision. When we arrived we went to the beach and had coffee at a beachside cafe, the girls went on the beach and down to the sea. I went to meet Alice outside the Art college we had lunch together then shopping, there are lots of interesting independent shops to browse in as well as the usual Primark, Topshop, H&M etc. In the afternoon we had tea at the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery this is well worth a visit. Entry is free. It's next to the Royal Pavilion, not too big but with lots of interesting pieces to provoke a thought or two. There was an exhibition called Little Black Dress, a celebration of this fashion icon charting its history and the varied styles and designs. Our final destination before we made our way to the train station was the pier, Issy and her friends went on the rides and amusements rounded off with seaside delicacies from various food stalls, what could be better?
