If you liked my flip-flop greeting card idea, you may like these ideas I came across to transform mundane flip-flops into unique footwear. I like the idea of taking a basic object and with a little bit of imagination and skill turning it into something individual. Linda Permann on craftstylish shows you how to embellish flip-flops. There are some lovely clear instructions with photographs to show you how to turn an inexpensive pair of flip-flops into something special. Linda makes it look easy! I also really like the crochet flower adornment Crochetkitten has used to transform her flip-flops from plain to personalised.
Have you seen, there are actually flip flops you can buy now with interchangeable straps. I can't remember the name of the make, but Fenwicks sell them. They were on the stand next to those really expensive Fit Flops.
I do like that idea of just covering the basic plastic strap with wool or cotton. It looks like a simple blanket stitch that's been used, but so effective.
