Using my basic Free Pattern for Knitted Easter Chicks (containing creme egg) I made some additions. To make the chicks I used Fancy Yarn (Fur), instead of the DK yarn and a pair of 3.75mm (9 UK, 5 US) size needles, you may need larger or smaller size needles depending on your knitting tension. I'm very pleased with the resulting fluffy chicks, they just look so comical. For the hatchlings eyes I used beads. Using an indelible pen, like a Sharpie, I drew pupils on the beads. WARNING if the chick is for a small child the eyes should be embroidered French knots.
These are great! I saw the pattern a few days ago and didn't give it much thought, but now seeing yours done with novelty yarn, I MUST make some. My sisters love Cream Eggs. These will be so funny to give them!
Anjie, these are brilliant, they look utterly bonkers and manic, but gorgeous with it!!
Are you going to get your needles out?
I could be tempted .... but there's still the matter of that jumper I've been knitting for 4 years!!!
