Free Pattern for a Cloth Bunny Rabbit

This post has been keyworded under:
Two cloth bunny rabbits

This bunny would make a lovely gift anytime of year but particularly at Easter. These are very easy to make. Print off pattern attachment.

You will need:

  1. Cotton fabric of your choice for the body and a piece of white fabric for the face.
  2. Stuffing, I usually buy a 99p cushion pad from Wilkinsons for this purpose.
  3. Small amount of embroidery thread for facial features.
  4. Ribbon, for a bow.

Cut out the pattern. First sew on the white circle for the face. Sew on features. I also like to give them rosy cheeks by using a colouring pencil. The seam allowance is 5mm (3/8ths of an inch) throughout. Sew around the ears, leaving the base open, turn them to the right side and press. Fold the ears at the base to give them a rabbit ear shape. Position ears on head, as shown in photo. Sew the two pieces of the body together, leaving a gap for stuffing. Reinforce the crotch with a couple of rows of stitching, as indicated on the pattern. Carefully clip sections of the seams where indicated. Turn the body to the right side, press. Stuff. Hand sew open seam. Tie a bow around the neck or make a bandana.
