How to Make a Pom Pom Scarf

I thought I would try to make a pom pom scarf, how hard could it be? Well making the pom poms  is the easy part stringing them together is the tricky bit. At my first attempt the pom poms were all bunched up. I decided they needed a spacer between each pom pom, something to keep them slightly apart. *Using a big needle and my yarn doubled I passed my thread through the first pom pom several times to secure it. I threaded on the rest of the pom poms to form the scarf, securing the last pom pom like the first.* I repeated *to* three more times, to make it strong. To form spacers I tied and knotted small pieces of yarn between each pom pom. I think it's worked!

For the pom poms I used three 100 grams balls of acrylic yarn from Wilkinsons at a total cost of £2.91

Gosh that worked out cheaply, good old Wilkinsons...

Yeah this looks great and will be so cosy around your neck.

:)

Great minds....... I did think about a bead but wondered if it would be too hard a device in such a soft structure. I might try it if I make another!

Anjie, perhaps a small bead actually threaded between each pompom, thus acting as a spacer, but adding to the overall effect might work?
