Kate Middleton Handbag and Other Royal Wedding Ephemera

Anjie's Kate Middleton bag

To celebrate the Royal wedding on the 29th April, I created two bags to mark the occasion. The William and Kate bags are both tongue in cheek, a bit of fun. I utilised fabric flags, bought from the 99p Store, for the couples images. The William "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!' bag is my favourite. To create the planted kisses on William's face I used T-shirt iron-on transfer paper, printed the kisses, cut them out, ironed them on. On the reverse of the bag I added my own warrant "By Royal Disappointment " created using the V&A's DESIGN A COAT OF ARMS  give it ago your self. The Kate bag I made from luxury fabric, the roses I made from my ribbon rose tutorial here . The bags are on display at the Courtyard Cafe at the moment.

I like the irreverent wedding memorabilia that is out there at the moment, like the sick bags made by Lidia Leith titled Throne Up and the KaTea & William teabags you can buy.

The racing Royal in-laws, I bought from Primark, in their post Christmas sale, for 50p, bargain! The old Union Jack flag, was another bargain, I bought from a jumble sale for 10p, the Queen has a youthful look.

LOVING the "By Royal Disappointment", it made me smile.........

There are some wonderful none-stuffy bits of memorabilia out there this time, aren't there?

I love all the irreverent memorabilia and play on word stuff that is out there too, we need something to make us smile :)

Anjie you are brilliant. Hope the people of St Albans can take a joke about "The Royals"? Love the coat of arms and the wording. I don't know what the Latin says but I am sure it fits perfectly! hahaha

:)

Thank you Tracey, you always make such nice comments. The latin motto reads 'Through effort to the stars'!

I've entered a world of nostalgia ..... Silver Jubilee celebrations, Worksop c.1977?

By the way where did you get those brilliant tea bags?

Liberty sell the teabags but you can buy them online. I remember you won the pass the parcel game at the party, a rather nice boxed royal coach, still got it? Happy days!

I won pass the parcel ... how do you remember this stuff? A boxed royal coach, that could be worth a bob or two! I have no idea where it is, but as I NEVER throw anything out it must be somewhere, probably at Mum's in the attic!

The William "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!' bag is perfect! :D
