I love this knitted wig! The designer, Megan, knitted it in fluorescent pink wool for Halloween. It's called the Hallowig. I think the pink wool gives it a very futuristic dimension and also a bit like the girl's hair in the children's TV show Lazy Town. If you knitted it in a more naturalistic hair colour it would be the perfect 'Hat' for those bad hair days. The pattern for this wig can be found at Knitty. Megan also has a website called The Organized Knitter
Megan, this is just the ticket for chemo girls, to bring a little laughter into their life as well as protect their heads and necks after chemotherapy. do you have a smaller version for youngsters. I sure would like to get busy and knit for these girls.
Angie,
I would love to buy two of these but after researching Meagan's work, I cannot find a link for order or puchase...
Can you advise ?
Love this !!
Thank You.
Hi Colleen, unfortunately I don't think she sells them but there is a free pattern http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall04/PATThallowig.html maybe you could find someone to knit them for you as an alternative idea, just a thought.
This knit wig in "natural" as well as "fun" colors would be a welcome alternative to turbans for chemo patients. This could be a good charity project as well as "premie" caps for hospitals. Spread the word among those who do this sort of thing ?
What an interesting site Knitty is. Some quite unusual patterns, but some fairly dodgy ones too. Worth a look. .... and this knitted wig is excellent.
Are you my sister? By the way Anjie...I don't think you look a bit like Vince Hill! Off to listen to some Val Doonican now..... Love to all and your site is fab...well done. I'd send more recycled images but haven't got the technical wherewithal! Elainexxx
I could be your sister ....
