Yesterday, in the evening, I went with two friends to an exhibition held at the Old Town Hall Courtroom. Nine artists had their work on show as part of the St Albans Open Studios. Of all the artists I was particularly drawn to the work of Stephanie Littlechild. On Stephanie's website she states "I work primarily in stitch and textiles in a 2D format, combined with hand papermaking. Working in mixed media brings a great deal of creative freedom. My work is concerned with evoking stories that are inspired by childhood memory and the family album, with an appearance of gradual age and decay with passing time. Narratives are told, embellished and passed on." I bought a piece of Stephenie's work and I am just about to frame it.
If you would like to visit the exhibition it is being held at:
The Old Town Hall, Courtroom, Market Place, St Albans.
Wednesday 30 and Thursday 1 October 10 am - 2 pm
Saturday 3 October and Sunday 4 October 10 am - 4 pm
I thought it was you I spotted across the room at the Town Hall and in fact you even have photographic evidence of Mr C and I being there! Sorry I didn't get to pop over and say hello.
