Free Pattern for Felt Babushka Doll Tree Decoration

I have designed this Russian doll as a tree decoration. The pattern for the doll is included on the felt bird Christmas decoration pattern. Just click on pdf attachment . I also made some dolls with a patterned cotton fabric and felt. Because I used a patterned material I had to make the face from a circle of flesh coloured felt.

Free Pattern for Felt Bird Christmas Decorations

These felt birds are easy to make and only need a minimum amount of sewing. I have made one in white, like a dove. The instructions are for a coloured bird to make the parts easier to identify and assemble. This is a fiesta of a bird! To make the bird you will need

felt

small amount of wadding

two small glass beads for eyes

ribbon to hang the bird from

beads and bell for embellishment

I have included a free pattern for you to download.

Chick chick chick chick!

These chickens are very easy to make, the body is based on how to make a juggling bean bag.

Take a rectangle of fabric measuring 20cm x 11cm fold in half with right sides facing. From a small amount of felt cut out a beak, wattle and comb put them in place sew up. 2 sides (seam allowance 5mm) Turn chicken inside out, at this point with black embroidery thread make 2 eyes using french knots. Fill the chicken with a small amount of stuffing, split peas for ballast and lavender. Sew up the final side, fold under 5mm seam allowance and top stitch.
