Happy Easter

At Christmas Alice bought me a Hornsea Pottery vase, from their 1960's Fauna range 'Daisy jug with rabbits'. Time for it to come into its own, perfect for an Easter display. With this good weather we have been having the garden has exploded with blossom and flowers, not so good for hay fever suffers, but great for taking photographs! I just had to take a photograph of a fully opened tulip and share it, it just looked like the colour had been painted on.

Fabric Pom Poms - How to Make Allium Flowers

Last week I wanted to make some pom poms from fabric, in particular try out some purple organza I had. I have noticed fabric pom poms seem to be a popular decoration at weddings at the moment. I get a lot of hits, from search engines, looking for fabric pom poms. To start with I tore the organza into long strips (the width of the fabric) of about 1.5cm wide, tearing makes the fabric nice and 'hairy'.

How to Make an Easter Basket from Cleaning Cloths!

For this Easter basket I bought a 99p packet of cleaning cloths, the pastel colours are perfect for this Easter project. In The 99p Shop I found a packet of 15 pearlized eggs, they open up, you can put sweets of your choice inside. Alternatively you could put chocolate or decorated eggs in the basket . For the basic basket I found this comprehensive tutorial on Maya Made Maya has made a beautiful basket, I have just tweaked it a bit for this project.

How to Make Flowers from I-cord or French Knitting

These flowers are so simple to make and look as fresh as spring!

Basic Flower

I knitted a length of i-cord 25cm (10") long, you could make it from French knitting. From this I formed a five looped petal flower then attached a button for the centre, piece of cake!

Flower Hair Band

Zip it!

I bought a selection of long colourful zips, with metal teeth, from a variety of charity shops. I've seen jewellery made from zips and wanted to have a play! I'm pleased with how the flowers turned out, I think they make interesting blooms!
